Ben Wheeler Pianos is a dedicated piano specialist supplying pianos throughout the South of England.  Ben Wheeler is the owner of the company and Neil Barkus his colleague and business partner. We place great importance in offering a professional and enjoyable experience to our customers and equal importance on enjoying the business ourselves.

Ben Wheeler

Ben has been a professional piano tuner/technician since 1991. He was originally trained by his father before attending college in London for further training.  At the earliest opportunity Ben passed the examinations for membership of the Pianoforte Tuners Association. Ben grew up playing the piano and retains a passion for the instrument both technically and musically. He started supplying pianos in 1997 from a converted garage and has guided the business to its present status with two showrooms and an increasingly high level of stock. Ben still enjoys tuning for local customers, his enjoyment of his work is self evident, and also takes great pride in his preparation work on the showroom pianos. Customers meeting Ben at the showroom can expect an enjoyable visit with honest, straightforward advice and a genuine enthusiasm for his pianos!

Neil Barkus

Neil is well known locally having been in the music business in Basingstoke for over 30 years! He was a director of Modern Music, a general music shop, and specialised in pianos and keyboard instruments. Ben and Neil have been friends and colleagues for many years and thoroughly enjoy working together. Neil‘s considerable experience and knowledge enable him to assist in all aspects of the business from meeting customers to delivering pianos. He is often called upon to value and purchase pianos and is trained in cabinet repair and polishing; all used pianos are meticulously stripped down, cleaned and polished by Neil as soon as they come in. Neil runs the van and delivers our pianos with Martin who is equally experienced in piano transportation.  Neil shares Ben’s enthusiasm for the business and is equally committed to providing customers with an unrivalled service before, during and after their piano purchase.

Ben Wheeler Pianos, the piano specialist, is based near Basingstoke and serves customers in Hampshire, Berkshire, Surrey and Southern England including Reading, Newbury, Winchester, Andover, Farnham and Camberley. We sell a wide range of new and used pianos (both upright pianos and grand pianos). We are appointed stockists for Grotrian-Steinweg, Bluthner, Kawai, Schreiner & Sohne and Feurich pianos.
